About Us

This shop was started by 2 friends with the goal of being able to one day live off of the profits and take back control of our life a little bit. Capitalism makes us give up so much control over our time in order to make money. 

We also want to make things. We aren't sticking to just 1 niche. At least to start. There is no set path or journey for the shop. We will let it become what we want it to be. Make things we like to make and maybe that takes us to making cosplay and prop items. Or being a merch creator/distributor for internet famous people. Or sticking to sticker/shirts/other basics but creating a space for artist to publish their works while maintaining all rights and a fair profit share. 

Who knows? We're going to figure it out as we go.

What does Kludgy mean?

- A clumsy or inelegant solution to a problem/awkward or makeshift and poorly designed

We named our shop Kludgy Co Designs because we feel like it described our ideas of a business. We have no idea what we're doing and we're not trying to be business people. And since the problem is capitalism, the elegant solution would be to just put our heads down, get a high paying corporate job, and have the same schedule dictated by others for the next 30 years. 

Instead, we want to make this business be enough to sustain us. We will end up working 24/7? Probably, but we can control our time and that is more valuable to us.  As clumsy or ugly we may be and as awkward and poorly designed business people might say we are, we're going to keep making stuff as long as we can.
